autoscopy

Image
The autoscopy project is one of my favorite assignments I’ve done throughout the semester. Creating each gif file with slightly different filters and being able to express internal struggles I face was very important to me. The main idea around my autoscopy project is releasing negativity and self doubt and receiving positivity and high self worth. Through the autoscopy project I want to demonstrate radiating positive energy and blocking out self- negativity.  https://www.shutterstock.com/image-vector/black-white-abstract-spiral-ray-background-1031735173?id=1031735173&rid=2051861 http://www.geekscab.com/2017/12/websites-to-download-trippy-wallpaper.html   original image:

BW to color

Image
While doing the black and white to color project in Photoshop, I started becoming more comfortable with the platform. While colorizing a black and white photo of myself, I learned the ability and how to use many tools on Photoshop. Before taking this class, I have always done the same exercises in Photoshop, so I'm glad to learn more skills and am less intimidated by the platform.  original image:

animation

Image
I think the animation project challenged me the most throughout the semester. This project was time consuming  and tedious but also rewarding. I am especially proud of the body of my figure changing colors while doing cartwheels and how it turned out like I envisioned. I think the colors complement each other and are bright but not too flashy or busy. I had the idea to do cartwheels because of their visual appeal and also to dust off my very old cheerleading skills.

multiplicity

Image
I enjoyed the multiplicity project a lot. Creating each character and then seeing the characters coincide throughout the editing process was rewarding. I feel like this project embodies all of my different activities throughout the week from doing homework to meditating to getting dressed up. When thinking of each character I wanted to showcase things I am doing when I feel the most myself, even including mundane tasks.

somewhere

When deciding where I should place myself for the Somewhere project, I looked through my clothes first. I found a lot of my clothing pieces resemble 70’s fashion and immediately thought of Dazed and Confused. The outfit I am wearing almost perfectly matches the character I am standing next to. To blend in even more to the scene, I added grain and higher color saturation to my photo. I enjoyed this project and had a lot of fun during every step of the process.

Poster

Image
When creating the poster project on Illustrator, I knew I wanted to pick a color scheme with bright colors. I chose a color scheme consisting of shades of blue, green and orange.  I associate bright colors with happiness and joy so, I wanted to make a poster that could evoke those emotions in other people. My quote, "visualize your highest self then show up as her" has stuck with ever since I first saw it.  I believe in the power of manifesting your reality and how visualizing who I want to be is the first step in getting there.  Original image:

calligram

Image
To create the calligram project on Illustrator, I used a photo of myself as reference and placed words from a letter I wrote to future me. This project helped me realize what I personally value from life and it  represents who I am as a person.  Fitting the words to each part of my face was stressful but my my favorite section of this project is my eyes and how the words not only fit into them, but also frame them.  orignal image:

logos

Image
The word I chose to illustrate in my design was "open minded." I really enjoyed this project and loved how my logo turned out. I especially like the colors of the logo and how it looks on a dark background. I traced a silhouette photo of my friend's head for the face and created the wave by free hand on Illustrator. I made multiple versions of my logo with the head either vertical or horizontal and different colors.
